Mars
Until the fist flyby of Mars by Mariner 4 in 1965, it was speculated that there might be liquid water on the planet's surface. This was based on observations of periodic variations in light and dark patches, particularly in the polar latitudes, which looked like seas and continents, while dark striations were interpreted by some observers as irrigation channels for liquid water. These straight-line features were later proven not to exist and were instead explained as optical illusions. Still, of all the planets in our solar system other than Earth, Mars is the most likely to habor liquid water, and perhaps life.

Mars
Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. Mars is named after the roman god of war, Mars. Mars is home to Olympus Mons, the largest known mountain in the universe. Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. Phobos is the largest of the two moons and is also closest to mars. The moons got their names after the soldiers that fought next to the Roman god Mars.

Experiment
Our experment was to heat up snow, water, and black dirt for ten minutes. After they heated up we had to graph our data. Then after that we had to let it cool for ten minutes. When they cooled down we had to graph how much it cooled. This experiment did not really have anything to do with mars or its weather patterns.
